The Dighton Parks and Recreation Commission will host their upcoming regular meeting on Saturday, May 8 at 1 p.m.

The meeting will begin at the Dighton Community Playground, 979 Somerset Ave. During the meeting, attendees will visit the Lane Field, School Lane Playground, Tri-Centennial Park, Osprey Landing, Tennis and Basketball Courts, and North Dighton Playground / Ballfield (Order TBD).

The agenda for the meeting, which is subject to revision/additions prior to the meeting, is as follows:

  1. Call to Order
  2. Pledge of Allegiance
  3. Announcements:
    1. Field Use Permit Approvals
  4. Old Business:
    1. Concert in the park “1st annual Dighton Firecracker Festival”
    2. KMA reports items pertaining to areas maintained by the commission
  5. New Business:
    1. Porta-Potty services at Spratt Field / Community Playground, Tennis / Basketball Courts, Lane Field, North Dighton Ballfield
    2. Visit, document, and prioritize maintenance concerns or improvements at all areas maintained by the commission
    3. Veterans Memorial park on Lincoln Ave.
    4. Fencing quotes and options for School lane playground and Lane Field
  6. Correspondence:
    1. Suzanne Cote to report on meeting with Girl Scout Troop 76116 about proposed bronze award project
  7. Acknowledgements:
    1. Thank you to Mr. Ferry and the highway department for spreading new material, grading, and compacting at School Lane and Lane field parking areas. And for installing the basketball hoops at the courts throughout town
  8. Minutes:
    1. Approve minutes from April 26, 2021 meeting
  9. Public Input
  10. Adjournment
