The Dighton Board of Selectmen, together with Town Administrator Michael Mullen, is pleased to welcome Shara Costa as the Town of Dighton’s new town clerk.

After being appointed by the Selectmen as Town Clerk, Costa was sworn in by Town Moderator Bill Moore on July 31. Costa succeeds Mark Pacheco.

“We’re proud of the tight-knit, community-centered culture that we have at Town Hall, and we have been excited to see Shara Costa step into the role of Town Clerk. We look forward to seeing all that she will do to continue leading the office into the future,” said Town Administrator Michael Mullen regarding the Board of Selectmen’s appointment of Costa to the role.

Costa has over 25 years of sales, sales operation, data analytics and demand planning experience. She most recently served as a sales, budgeting, and ordering analyst for a New England-based food service manufacturer. In this position, Costa oversaw the office responsible for data analytics and budget management and analytics, and was responsible for prioritizing customer service and support for the company’s broad customer base.

Since assuming office on July 31, Town Clerk Costa has enrolled as a member of the Massachusetts Town Clerk’s Association (MTCA). She has been meeting with various residents and town departments as part of her efforts to get involved in ongoing efforts and initiatives relating to the Town Clerk’s office.

“I am so humbled and excited to begin my role as Dighton’s town clerk,” said Town Clerk Costa. “Dighton is a small but mighty town with our town government on the move in so many ways. I am truly honored by the opportunity to serve.”
