Town of Dighton Invites Community Members to Attend Third Annual Firecracker Festival

The Dighton Parks and Recreation Commission is pleased to invite community members to attend Dighton’s third annual Firecracker Festival.

WHEN:

Saturday, Sept. 9 from 12-5 p.m.

WHERE:

Dighton Town Hall, 979 Somerset Ave.

WHAT:

Organized by the Dighton Parks and Recreation Commission, the Firecracker Festival will have food, games and entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy.

The festival will include various activities, such as a meet and greet with town committees/commissions and community groups, face painting by Marc Kohler, and games and prizes organized by Parks and Recreation. There will also be Touch-a-Truck with the Dighton Police and Fire Departments, as well as a “Sink the SROs” dunk tank featuring Dighton Police’s school resource officers and K-9 Oakie.

The event will also feature a vendor fair, including a local farmers market with Dighton’s Under the Sun Farm.

At noon the Dighton-Rehoboth Marching Band will kick off the event by performing its rendition of the National Anthem followed by a preview of the 2023-24 Dighton-Rehoboth halftime show. Following the performance, two-time Grammy winner and local singer, author and storyteller Bill Harley will take the stage. Harley will also be available after his show to meet attendees. A circus act will be performed by Doctor Finnegan’s Circus’ Theodore Rorschach and the evening will close out with a performance by Funk-n-Country. Performances will be emceed by Off the Cuff Entertainment. 

Food and beverages will be offered by the Dighton Lions Club and Faneek’s Coney Island.
