Town Administrator Michael Mullen is pleased to share the Town of Dighton’s Fiscal Year 2023 updated financial dashboard to help keep residents informed about town finances and its fiscal position.

The financial dashboard, launched last year by the Town Administrator and the first of its kind in the Town of Dighton, can be found on the Town of Dighton’s Administrator webpage.

“As we continue to develop our Fiscal Year 2024 budget, we would like to once again share our financial dashboard as a reminder to residents of our commitment to ensuring transparency in the Town’s fiscal affairs,” Town Administrator Mullen said. “We encourage residents to use this dashboard as a tool to help them familiarize themselves with the Town’s finances and our fiscally-responsible budgeting principles.”

The financial dashboard includes information about free cash and the best practices relating to the use of free cash, details about the Town’s excess levy capacity to reinforce the Town’s fiscally responsible and conservative budgeting framework, information on the Town’s budget per capita and more.

The dashboard also includes the Town’s current bond rating of Aa3, which reflects the high-quality financial condition/low credit risk of the Town and highlights the Town of Dighton’s five-year trends.

The financial dashboard is created using information compiled from Dighton’s Town Budgets, Tax Recap Forms and the state Division of Local Service’s Municipal Finance Dashboard.

The dashboard is updated at least once a year, or whenever updated information is available.
