DIGHTON — Town Administrator Michael Mullen, Police Chief Robert MacDonald, Fire Chief Christopher Maguy and Highway Superintendent Thomas Ferry would like to provide an update on the Town’s efforts following the Nor’easter storm.

Warming/Charging Center Opens Today

Residents without power who would like a warm place to go and charge their phones and devices are welcome to come to the Community Room at the Dighton Police station, located at 1458 Somerset Ave.

The center will be open today and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Power Restored to Many Residents

As of 10 a.m. Thursday, approximately 1,300 National Grid customers in Dighton had their power restored. There are still about 300 customers without electricity in town.

According to National Grid’s Outage Map, power for remaining customers with outages is expected to be restored by 11:45 a.m. Friday.

Additionally, there are still Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant (TMLP) customers in North Dighton without power and crews are actively working on restoration efforts.

Residents are reminded to stay away from all downed power lines and never go near or touch them for any reason.

For any and all emergencies, call 911.

Town officials will provide further updates as they become available.
