The Dighton Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce that Michael Mullen has been appointed the next Town Administrator for the Town of Dighton.
“We are pleased to welcome Mike to his new role with the Town of Dighton,” Board of Selectmen Chairman Brett Zografos said. “Mike’s expertise and experience in local government will be a great asset to our town. The Dighton Board of Selectmen wishes him much success in this position.”
Mullen has 13 years of experience in municipal, county and state government and in the non-profit sector. He most recently served as the County Director for the Norfolk County Commissioners’ Office.
At the Norfolk County Commissioners’ Office, Mullen was most notably responsible for the administration, oversight and implementation of the county’s $31 million annual operating budget. Prior to this role, he has also held the positions of Director of Government Affairs & Communications at the Massachusetts Association of 766 Approved Private Schools, Chief of Staff at the Office of Brockton Mayor Linda M. Balzotti and Legislative Director at the Office of State Senator John F. Keenan.
Mullen has also served on the Rockland Board of Selectmen and Rockland School Committee. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree and has received a Certificate in Municipal Finance Management from Suffolk University.
“It is a true honor to be selected by the Board of Selectmen as Dighton’s next town administrator,” Mullen said. “Dighton is a special community on the move in so many ways. I understand the priority that town officials and residents place on collaboration, community engagement and strong fiscal planning, and I’m excited to work with the Board of Selectmen, town departments and residents to continue the town’s progress into the future.”
Mullen is anticipated to begin in his new role in early March. He replaces former Town Administrator Mallory Aronstein who held the position of Dighton’s first Town Administrator for the past three years.
