Town Administrator Michael Mullen and Dighton Development and Industrial Commission Chairman Daniel Higgins, together with the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD), invite residents to participate in the Town of Dighton’s newly launched Dighton Economic Development Plan survey.

The Dighton Development and Industrial Commission (DDIC) is working with SRPEDD to develop an Economic Development Plan for the Town of Dighton. This plan seeks to help town officials plan for managed economic growth in the community and future infrastructure investments while capitalizing on the culture and character of the town.

As part of the development of the plan, the Town will conduct public outreach and engagement with town residents and stakeholders to ensure the plan reflects the interests of all community members while simultaneously promoting a more sustainable local economy.

The public engagement process will begin with a survey that was created in partnership with the Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Those interested in completing the survey can access it here.

The survey will remain open as the Town’s economic development planning process continues forward.

“The success of our economic development planning efforts relies on being informed by the input and priorities of Dighton residents and community stakeholders,” said Town Administrator Mullen. “To gain this input, we’ll be conducting numerous public engagement opportunities beginning with this survey. We encourage community members to complete this survey and we thank them for their participation.”

The results of the survey will inform the recommendations of the Dighton Economic Development Plan and be presented at future meetings related to the study.

“There is no better way for Dighton residents to help craft the future economic development vision than by participating in the survey and engaging the planning process,” added DDIC Chairman Higgins. “We are focused on developing an economic development blueprint for Dighton that truly reflects the priorities of our community.”

Residents are also encouraged to visit the DDIC and SRPEDD’s project website to learn more about the project.
