Chief Christopher Maguy, on behalf of the Dighton Fire Department, would like to recognize and celebrate educators on World Teacher’s Day.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognizes Oct. 5 annually as World Teacher’s Day. On this day, educators from around the world are celebrated for the exceptional work they do and the positive impacts they have on their students.

This year’s theme, “Teachers at the heart of education recovery,” focuses on the support teachers need to fully contribute to the recovery process amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“On behalf of the Dighton Fire Department, I would like to thank our Dighton school community educators for all of their hard work and continuous devotion to educating our students,” Chief Maguy said. “Over the past year and a half, educators everywhere have not wavered in their efforts to support and teach their students amid a global pandemic. Their work alone is commendable, yet they continuously go above and beyond to meet the needs of their students.”
