Town Administrator Michael Mullen is pleased to report that the Town of Dighton will be continuing its reopening plan with the lifting of municipal COVID-19 restrictions.
On May 17, Gov. Charlie Baker announced the end of all remaining state COVID-19 restrictions effective Saturday, May 29. Additionally, Gov. Baker announced the end of Massachusetts’ State of Emergency effective June 15.
As such, Dighton’s Reopening Task Force, in alignment with state protocols, plans to ease all COVID-19 restrictions within municipal buildings beginning May 29.
The Board of Selectmen approved the plan during its May 26 meeting. The updated plan can be accessed via the Town of Dighton’s website.
As outlined in the plan, all town offices will be open to the public at full capacity. No appointments will be required for residents to conduct business.
While mask and building capacity restrictions will be relaxed in municipal building spaces, as outlined in the approved plan, the Task Force recommends a continuation of health and safety practices such as social distancing, plexiglass barriers and a continued commitment to regular municipal building cleanings.

In addition to the lifting of town-mandated municipal COVID-19 restrictions, all industries and activities are also permitted to fully reopen at maximum capacity.
The Task Force will be working with the Council on Aging and Prime Time Director and Board of Directors to develop a plan for a return to future programming.
The Dighton Public Library will continue to offer curbside pickup. Patrons can place their holds through the library’s request form, SAILS mobile app, online catalog, or by calling 508-669-6421. When patrons’ holds are ready, the library will set up an appointment for patrons to pick up their items.
