DIGHTON — Town Administrator Mallory Aronstein is pleased to share that a local Cub Scout group volunteered to pick up litter around the town.

Pack 45, Dighton’s local Cub Scout group, decided to pick up trash as a community service project. The group walked through the Broad Cove Nature Trail to collect trash and litter.

Two members of Pack 45, Aaron and Eliot Boudreau, cleaned up an area of land along Elm Street by the Muddy Cove Pond Dam and collected 35 pounds of trash.

“We would like to thank these Cub Scouts for their service to the community,” Town Administrator Aronstein said. “Not only is picking up trash important for the environment, but the group’s work helps to keep our town clean and beautiful.”

The group worked with Highway Superintendent Tom Ferry to organize the project. The Town’s highway department assisted by picking up the filled trash bags for the group.
