Chief Christopher Maguy announces that the Dighton Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates for an open Firefighter/Paramedic position within the department.

As a firefighter/paramedic within the Dighton Fire Department, the individual will have both fire suppression and emergency medical care responsibilities. Depending on the nature of the incident, this personnel may provide extrication and rescue, fire suppression or hazard control and administer emergency medical care.

The Dighton Fire Department offers a competitive salary, with a starting base with a paramedic stipend of $75,104, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Education stipend/tuition reimbursement
  • Optional investment plans
  • Uniform allowance
  • Vacation time off from 96-336 hours and 48 hours of personal leave
  • 13 compensated holidays with the ability to be “floated”
  • Overtime offered on a rotating basis

At the time of application, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and be certified as a Massachusetts EMT/Paramedic.
