Town of Dighton Invites Community Members to Attend Second Annual Firecracker Festival

Dighton Parks and Recreation Chairman Kevin Smith, together with the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator, are pleased to invite community members to attend Dighton’s second annual Firecracker Festival.

WHEN:

Saturday, July 9 from 12 to 6 p.m.

WHERE:

Dighton Town Hall, 979 Somerset Ave.

WHAT:

Organized by the Dighton Parks and Recreation Commission for the second year in a row, the Firecracker Festival will have food, games and entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy.

The festival will include various activities, such as a meet and greet with town committees/commissions and community groups, face painting by Marc Koehler, a petting zoo with Sheffield Way Farm, and games and prizes organized by Parks and Recreation. There will also be Touch-a-Truck with the Dighton Police Department and Fire Department, as well as a Splash the Selectmen water tower.

The national anthem will be performed by Dighton’s own Madalyn Stevens. There will be musical performances by Wayne Potash and Toe Jam Puppet Band. A circus act will be performed by Doctor Finnegan’s Circus. Performances will be emceed by Off the Cuff Entertainment. 

Food and beverages will be provided by the Dighton Lions Club, Pops Brickoven Pizza, Jim’s Famous Fried Dough and Del’s Lemonade.

“After a successful festival last year, we are delighted that we have the opportunity to hold the festival once again,” Chairman Smith said. “It is a wonderful opportunity for Dighton residents to come together, have fun, socialize and get to know local organizations and committees. We encourage all residents to attend the Firecracker Festival and we cannot wait to see you all there.”
