Chief Christopher Maguy is pleased to announce that the Dighton Fire Department will now be offering online permitting and online payments for residents and business owners.

Effective immediately, residents can click here to visit the online permitting page. All permits can be obtained through the page with the exception of open burning permits which may be requested on dighton.firepermits.com.

Building Department related permit applications that are offered online include:

  • Commercial/Residential Building Permits
  • Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Compliance Permits
  • Flammables & Combustibles Permits
  • Fire Protection System Permits & Fire Warning System Permits
  • Gas Permits & more

Residents applying for these permits will be asked to create an account on the PermitLink portal if they do not already have an account. On this portal, residents will be able to request permits and inspections and view their respective documents. The system will also post permit-tracking data, including the status of active permits, which can be made accessible to the public, increasing transparency to all stakeholders.

Payments for all permits and any processing fees can be submitted through this site as well. Residents and business owners will be able to pay with a check on the date of their inspection as well.

Before applying for a permit, community members should review Dighton’s Building Department webpage to see what documentation is required for each permit.

All residents and business owners are strongly encouraged to use the online services, but those who wish to continue scheduling appointments by phone will still be able to do so by calling ahead at 508-669-6611.

“We are pleased to be officially launching our second online permitting platform that simplifies permit requests for our residents and business owners,” Chief Maguy said. “With this new service, community members will have access to a one-stop-shop to request permits and see theirs and others’ active permits.”

Links to Dighton Fire’s new permit portal can also be found on the Dighton Fire Department’s news blog on the homepage and on the Inspection/Permits tab.

Anyone with questions regarding the new permit process is encouraged to contact Dighton Fire at 508-669-6611.
